FREEDOM FOR RESILIENT WOMEN
HELP FREEDOM FOR RESILIENT WOMEN RAISE $1M IN EMERGENCY COVID19 RELIEF FOR SINGLE MOTHER STUDENTS
The COVID19 pandemic disproportionately affects women. Last September, more than 865,000 women dropped out of the labor force. With no employment to pay their rent and limited childcare options, many single mother college students are unable to stay in school and are abandoning their chance to build a better future. Make a donation and help Freedom for Resilient Women #KeepMomInSchool.
ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION
Our Mission: Freedom for Resilient Women (FRW) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit seeking to increase the graduation rate of single mother students and to help single mother student graduates achieve financial independence.
What We Offer

Why We Exist
In the United States, only 8% of single mother students who begin an educational program are able to finish within six years of their enrollment date. Most never complete their education. Those who do have higher than average student debts.

MEET THE FOUNDER
FRW FOUNDER LISA SLEDGE
FRW founder, Lisa Sledge, began law school in her mid thirties as a single mom with two small children. It was the kind of decision that requires a person to be either crazy or desperate and Lisa freely admits to being both.
Thanks to the support of her family, friends, church, and college professors (huge shout-out to Professors Louisa Heiny and Bill Richards, Dean Reyes Aguilar, and the SJ Quinney College of Law), Lisa graduated in May 2019.
Lisa is a practicing attorney and now works at her dream job. She and her children (now eight and ten years old) were finally able to move out of their cramped two bedroom apartment and into a more comfortable three bedroom rental. Although they aren’t rolling in money, Lisa is thrilled that she has not needed to donate plasma or sell any of her personal belonging to support her family in over a year!
Lisa founded Freedom for Resilient Women on the belief that all single mother students who sacrifice, struggle, and accomplish their goals in spite of hardship have earned the blessing of financial freedom.
Single mother students and graduates are superheroes. They are resilient in the face of many hardships and are positive role models for their children and others.
But sometimes their resilience isn’t enough. They are often unsupported, stressed out, overwhelmed, with financial hardship preventing them from realizing their full potential.
Make a donation to help FRW offer relief from hardship and enable these resilient women to achieve their goals.
